Large and impressive emerald-cut lab-created Sapphire.
Dating we believe to around the 1960s-70’s.
Measuring a large 1.7cm x 1.2cm or 14cts, set in traditional four claw setting to a raised pierced ornate gallery, to upswept flat shoulders extending to a nice half round shank.
Similar in colour to burned toffee and exhibiting flashes of bright yellow tones combined with deep gold umber.
Strikingly unusual this classic cut and style is forever elegant and stylish.
“Chemically and physically speaking, the same materials constitute natural and lab-grown sapphires, and they have the same atomic structure and crystal habit. Gemmology labs would identify both lab-grown and natural sapphires as forms of corundum”. (credit http://gemsociety.org).
