Vintage 9ct Yellow Gold Lapis Lazuli Cabochon Ring

Impressive and showy ring dating to around the 1960-70’s or thereabouts and crafted from 9ct yellow gold.

Front and centre is a large and quite beautiful 2cm x 1.2cm oval cabochon Lapis Lazuli of a deep blue hue and a smattering of tiny natural pyrite flecks allowing this stone to shimmer in the light.

Bezel set in a solid raised frame to a rope twist border with square upswept shoulders flowing to a sturdy thick flat band.

Giving a substantial finger coverage and such a bright splash of intense deep blue this ring makes a statement when ever she is worn.

History of Lapis Lazuli

Lapis - derived from the Latin word for ‘stone’ and Lazuli from Medieval Latin for ‘from the sky or heavens’ literally translates aptly for a 'stone from the heavens'!
