Well knock us down with a feather as we did not know these glorious long/guard chains were made after the Edwardian era! But we are more than happy they were as this one is gorgeous, substantial, signed and superbly crafted.
Well knock us down with a feather as we did not know these glorious long/guard chains were made after the Edwardian era! But we are more than happy they were as this one is gorgeous, substantial, signed and superbly crafted.
Crafted from 9ct yellow gold with solid oval belcher links this wonderful chain measures 132 cm in length or 51.9 inches in length.
Stamped ‘ACC’ and 9ct to the lobster clasp there is also a flat link stamped with ‘CD’ and the full UK hallmarks for assay in Birmingham and date letter for 1979.
Some what confusing but we believe the lobster clasp may be earlier and has been perfectly and expertly added at some stage. Regardless of when and how this chain was made it is superb … all links are thick with no wear, all links supporting lobster clasp are sealed and matching.
Heavy and solid at a very hefty 31.3 grams this quality chain has the bonus of not being ‘antique’ and therefore shows no age related issues and with careful wear will last you a lifetime.
