Absolutely charming vintage pair of earrings dating to around the 1960’s we believe and boy do these bring back memories as one of us had a pair similar!
The first thing to note is the shepherds hook fitting are stamped 1/20 14k which means the fittings (probably late additions) are 14ct gold plated. These can be easily removed and 9ct hooks put on if you wished but its simply not necessary as the hooks are quite a good quality and look and feel like gold.
Now.. the little bells are delicious! Crafted from 9ct rose gold and stamped as such inside the bell with the ‘clapper’ (dangly bit inside a bell) with a little red paste set into it and…. when shaken these bells actually ring! (See video below).
The tiny bells are suspended from a chain drop to which is also set a little cultured Pearl.
Swinging entrancingly from the ear we think these are the cutest things ever!
