Vintage 14ct Gold Russian Baltic Honey Amber Earrings

Rich and dark golden orange Baltic Honey Amber earrings manufactured in Soviet Russia.

Crafted from 14ct (583) rose gold (red gold in Russia) and set with a highly domed cabochon piece of Amber with gorgeous mesmerising inclusions.

Measuring 1.2cm in diameter and fully enclosed to the back in very lush bright 14ct rose gold.

Easy to wear post and butterfly backs which sit firmly on the ear.

**Hallmarked to the verso with 583 for 14ct, makers mark and we believe town mark however we cannot identify the town.

Style of hallmark indicates, we believe, manufacture prior to 1959.

Hallmarks

**Hallmark representing the government inspection stamp changed over the years, while the gold purity hallmarks remained nearly the same up until the collapse of the USSR.
Between 1927 - 1959 the government inspection hallmark was a male (worker's) head with a hat, under which was a hammer (this mark would then have a mark like "583" next to it).
From 1959 to 1992 the government inspection hallmark changed to a five-point star with the hammer and sickle inside it.
