The Shishi (石獅; shíshī), often referred to as a ‘lion dog,’ is a mythical creature in Chinese folklore, symbolising protection, strength, and good fortune.
This exotic and strikingly beautiful example is crafted from carved Lapis Lazuli, highly detailed with tiny flecks of pyrite which catch the light and shimmer perfectly against the vibrant blue of the Lapis. The verso is plain and also features delightful pyrite sparkles.
Topped with a double 14ct Yellow gold bale, which is wide enough to accommodate a good sized chain, dog clip or bolt ring.
A large and impressive size measuring a drop of 6.5cm (with bale) and 4cm wide.
