Highly collectible and rare to find this exquisitely crafted Sterling Silver bangle epitomises the Victorian love of all things Equestrian.

Crafted in London and dated 1865 we believe this bangle would have been purchased and gifted to a young woman of considerable means.

Only the wealthy and aristocratic had the time and monetary wealth to enjoy Equestrian pass times, and this particular bangle would not have been inexpensive in 1865!

With finely detailed raised and applied riding hats and crops with a central horse shoe motif symbolising Goodluck to finely chased leaf and vine patterning thereafter.

Hallmarked twice inside the bangle with the makers hallmarks ‘E & K’, the lion passant and date letter for 1865.

This bangle bears no assay mark… upon research and subsequently contacting the Birmingham assay office we can advise with confidence if the assay mark is not present it is naturally know to have been assayed in London.

This rare 156 year old Victorian bangle is a collectors item, but what a wonderful gift and family heirloom this would be for the budding or experienced Equestrienne!

CONDITION

Very good to excellent antique condition. Clasp is perfect and closes with a snap. Slight ‘impression’ to back of bangle, not significant enough to clarify as a ding or dent. Lovely patina to silver. Hallmarks clear.
