Victorian 9ct Yellow Gold Mechanical Pencil By Sampson & Mordan Circa 1890

Dating to the late Victorian (dated 1896) era we have this large mechanical/propelling pencil by Sampson & Mordan.

Crafted from 9ct yellow gold and featuring fine engine turned pattern throughout and topped with a round fine Bloodstone to the top.

Measuring a substantial 12cm in length when extended and weighing a very healthy 13 grams this one feels beautiful in the hand.

An inscription reading ‘From S.L.J from S.H * 1896 *’ dates this one nicely.

Stamped of course with ’S.MORDAN & CO’ to the shaft also.
