Superb Large Early Australian Antique 9ct Rose Gold Cameo By Aronson & Co circa 1895
Sold Out Free
Wonderful, large and early example of an Italian carved cameo set and mounted by one of our well known jewellery firms Aronson & Co.
Featuring, in profile, the Roman goddess ‘Flora’ known in mythology as a goddess of fertility, springtime and youth.
Carved from King Helmut Shell (Cassis Tuberosa) in Italy by a master carver the execution and detail is superb.
Mounted and framed thereafter by the firm of Aronson & Co, (founded in 1878) in soft hued 9ct rose gold and stamped with their hallmark to the verso.
With original pin and C clasp and a tiny loop at the top which would have held a safety chain and pin ( we can replace this if wished) but this tiny loop with the addition of a jump ring or two could turn this piece into to dual purpose brooch and pendant !
Of museum quality we believe this fine example from one of our iconic early jewellery firms is one for the cameo or early Australian jewellery collector.
