Superb Edwardian / Art Nouveau Era 9ct Yellow Gold Sapphire & Pearl Dragonfly Brooch Circa 1910-15

Steeped in mystical symbolism the Dragonfly has long been imbued with symbolic meanings across many cultures representing transformation, renewal, and the fleeting nature of life.
This fine example is crafted from rich and bright 9ct yellow gold and designed as an impressively long - 6.5cm - bar style brooch elegantly set with a strikingly beautiful Dragonfly with all original natural half seed Pearls to the outstretched wings, and an eight claw set natural Ceylon type blue brilliant-cut Sapphire to the body.
The Dragonflys’ wings spread a lovely span of over 2.6cm and his sinuous body gracefully flows along the length of the 6.5cm bar.
In excellent antique condition this stunning piece secures firmly, and with ease, with a double-C clasp and strong solid 9ct gold pin to the verso, this magnificent antique brooch looks absolutely fabulous when worn and receives compliments whenever she is seen!

Sapphire is eight claw set, all claw original and covering Sapphire perfectly. No chips or abrasions to Sapphire. Pin and clasp are original and in excellent condition and working order.
