Superb Early Australian 9ct Rose Gold Amethyst ‘Willis & Sons’ Pendant/Brooch
Meticulously hand crafted in 9ct rose gold by Willis & Sons over 100 years ago this piece dates the Edwardian era circa 1910.
Set to the centre with a striking large natural carved and faceted Amethyst in the shape of a heart which is multi claw set in a raised setting to a lovely openworks shield shaped setting.
Adding to the wearability of this piece there is a 9ct trace chain, secured with a 9ct jump ring to thread your favourite chain.
This huge amethyst measures 1.4cm x 1.4cm or approximately 8 carats !
To the verso is the original brooch pin and C clasp which are in impeccable condition.
Signed quite clearly and discreetly to the lower outside with the now iconic Willis & Sons hallmark of the ‘unicorn’ (their emblem), 9 for 9ct and the ‘wheat sheaf’ being the guarantee mark for 9ct gold of this era.
This is not only a collectors piece but a very wearable and rare addition to any ones jewellery collection.
