A superb antique ring dating to the late Victorian to early Edwardian era, with one of our favourite gemstones - the Opal - our favourite October birthstone!

“In Australian mythology of our first peoples, Opals are said to have originated when the creator came down to Earth on a rainbow, and where his foot touched the ground the stones turned into colourful Opals. This legend ties Opals to the origins or creation, rainbows and spiritual significance”. How utterly magical!

This fine ring is crafted from bright 18ct yellow gold and designed as an ever popular ‘half hoop’ and features five graduated natural solid oval white Opals each with a stunning play of colour - reds, violet, greens, yellow and blues.. the whole spectrum abounds in each and provides a celestial dance of light and colour, entrancingly each Opal is also accented by eight tiny rose-cut diamonds which twinkle to perfection.

The carved scrolled under gallery is equally as lovely befitting a ring of this quality, and solid half round shank ensures comfort and stability on the finger.

In excellent condition, there is no dulling, abrasions or any wear to the Opals, they are a vibrant as the day this ring was made.

CONDITION
Excellent antique condition. This is a stunning ring of excellent manufacture.  The Opals are bright and with fabulous play of colour, no chips, non dulling, no abrasions.  All the Opal and diamonds are well set and secure with their original claws which are covering the gems perfectly.  Shank is solid and thick with no wear or thinning.  No repairs, or damages.  Under gallery is ornate, solid and very pretty.  No issues to note, superb!
