Superb Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Demi-Parure - Circa 1880-90
A strikingly beautiful Bohemian Garnet demi-parure dating to the late Victorian era, retailed in London by Bressy & Son - Watchmakers & Jewellers 326 High Street Stratford - and included in purchase is the original plush burgundy velvet box.
The earrings are superb, crafted in traditional ‘Garnet Gold’ or ’Tombac’ and are substantially proportioned with an impressive drop from the ear of 4cm large round rosette measuring an impressive 2.2cm round. Each luscious rosette is three tiered and studded with an array of round and pear-cut rose-cut deep red Bohemian garnets, all original and faceted beautifully to sparkle and shine in any light.
The brooch is large - 3.5cm round - and also fashioned in tiered three dimensional style, an exact match to the earrings, set with large (and small) round and pear-cut lush deep red Bohemian Garnets (one replacement, see condition report below).
Surviving as a set, in its original box is a rarity… this wonderful example of true antique Victorian Bohemian garnet craftsmanship is an asset to any jewellery connoisseur.

CONDITION
Very good antique condition. Earrings display all original Garnets, no re-glues, no chips of damage. Earring shepherd hook fittings have been replaced early in their life, small signs of soldering, noting for accuracy only, they are firm, strong and secure. Brooch is lovely, one replacement garnet to centre halo, this can be seen but does not detract from the overall beauty of the piece, all other garnet are original, no chips or damage. Original C clasp and pin to rear. No other issues to note.
