Large Victorian (1837-1901) silver locket crafted during the Aesthetic movement that epitomises quality hand made craftsmanship.
The front is decorated with hand chased floral / fern motifs with the border a halo of classic impressed ‘star’ and ’bead’ motifs.
This locket has an abundance of detail, with an equally ornate and wide bale which would be large enough for a variety of chains.
Hinges in perfect order and snaps closed very satisfactorily.
Stamped simply for 925 to the inside of rear panel, leaves a tiny ‘impression’ to the back which is not a dent !
Quite large at 5.8cm with bale x 3.7cm
Inner rims and perplex/glass are missing, however these large deep oval panels lend themselves to easily holding a well sized photo quite safely without.
5.8cm x 3.7cm (With bale)
Approx 9mm deep
Very good overall
Indent from 925 stamp rear panel
Slight patina in-between star motifs and internal rimsPlease note, chain and box are for displayPurchase Summary
