An exceptional piece by one of our iconic early Australian jewellers J Lawrence of Melbourne. Joseph Lawrence was a manufacturing jeweller, the company was one of the largest manufacturers of solid handmade jewellery in Australia throughout the first half of the 20th century.
Quite obviously handmade as per the era, the central diamond shape motif is set with a 4mm rhodolite garnet suspended by two knife edged bars.
Suspended below also by knife edge bars are three pear shape Rhodolite garnets, all of which are approx 1.2ct each or 9mm x 5mm each. Modelled in 9ct rose gold throughout.
Hallmarked crisply and clearly with J Lawrence hallmark to outer edge of diamond panel, and 9ct to the barrel clasp, this Lavalier is in pristine, unworn condition, all original, as good as the day it was made around 110 years ago.
This is a collectors piece, and will not disappoint.
