A wonderfully substantial vintage 10ct yellow gold Carnelian signet ring, with a bold, beautifully proportioned presence and an impressive 8.36 gram weight that gives the piece a distinctly luxurious feel on the finger!

Taking centre stage is a generously sized oval Carnelian, measuring 1.40 cm x 9.34mm within its setting, displaying a gorgeous rich burnt-orange to deep reddish-orange hue, with warm notes of russet, terracotta and glowing ember red. The stone has a beautifully smooth, highly polished surface which complements the clean, confident lines of the signet design.
Particularly lovely is the small, open-backed setting, allowing light to enter through the Carnelian from beneath. As the light moves through the stone, its deeper red tones become wonderfully illuminated, revealing flashes of warm translucent orange-red and glowing cognac, giving the Carnelian far more depth and life than its rich surface colour initially suggests.
The Carnelian is surrounded by a smooth, substantial frame of 10ct yellow gold, flowing seamlessly into the broad shoulders and solid band. There is a wonderful weight and solidity to the construction; it is certainly a commanding ring on the finger, yet its softly contoured profile and beautifully smooth finish make it exceptionally comfortable to wear.
Bold without being overly ornate, this is a fabulous vintage signet with wonderful finger coverage — the richness of the Carnelian against the warm yellow gold makes for an especially striking combination.

Presenting in really lovely vintage condition. The Carnelian remains beautifully crisp, free from chips, abrasions or scratches, with its smooth polished surface retaining a wonderful lustre. The substantial 10ct yellow gold setting displays only very minor superficial marks consistent with gentle wear, noted purely for accuracy and doing little to detract from the overall presentation.
