Georgian Natural Seed Pearl Mourning Hair Locket Ring Circa 1820

Lovely and infinitely wearable today Georgian Mourning ring, featuring the ‘eggiest’ shaped oval natural seed pearls.  The pearls are in beautiful condition with no loss to nacre, and are creamy well matched white with no additions or replacements.

To the centre of the eighteen pearls is a locket hair compartment with braided hair, this little panel measures 13mm x 6mm and is in very good condition. The entire ring measure a lovely and showy 1.8cm x 1.1cm.

This lovely ring started its life roughly 200 years ago as a brooch we believe and has been expertly converted into the ring you see before you.

The entire back is gold enclosed and then to a fine gold band, with just a little shoulder detail, and which is so comfortable to wear.

The  gold construction is of around 15ct gold and is bright and lush and befitting to the piece.
