Georgian / Early Victorian Miniature 9ct Gold ‘Ouroboros’ Seal Pendant / Charm Circa 1830
Sold Out Free
Exquisite and tiny in proportions this Georgian 9ct seal is simply superb.
Crafted from around 9ct gold and dating to the Georgian era, exquisitely handcrafted with the added attraction of having two ‘Ouroboros’ snakes as the main feature.
“The ouroboros is often interpreted as a symbol for eternal cyclic renewal or a cycle of life, death, and rebirth. The skin-sloughing process of snakes symbolizes the transmigration of souls, the snake biting its own tail is a fertility symbol”.
Tiny in proportions measuring just 1.5cm high by 1.1cm to the base, excluding top jump ring.
With an un-inscribed bevelled edge rock crystal or chalcedony to the base of a very pale grey, perhaps just waiting all these years to have you personal inscription added.
This tiny piece is steeped in history and sentiment and would lend itself to many possibilities, added to a simple chain to be worn around the neck alone or part of a #neckmess with other pendants, or perhaps it would make the perfect addition to a charm bracelet!
