Superb example of early Georgian handcrafted workmanship with an oval foil-backed Citrine set in a cut down collet setting, to a finely embossed ornate border.
The bifurcated shoulders are lovely, finely engraved to a then three grooved shank, which is the original, so very typical of the period.
The pale citrine measures 9mm x 7mm and, due to the traditional foil-backing, simply glows.
In lovely condition for her 210 years with this charming ring is looking for her ever home.
Citrine 9mm x 7mm
Face of ring 1.4cm x 1.2cm
Tested as 15ct gold
Approx Q 1/2 or 18.5mm diameter
Sizeable with great care/skill
Lovely condition for her approx 210 years. Slight rubbing to Citrine, but not noticeable to the naked eye.
Historic and very hard to see gold repair (not solder) to rear of shoulder, viewable under magnification. Foil back stones should never ever be immersed in water
