Lovely and poignant early Sepia Morning brooch / pendant dating to circa 1780, beautifully hand crafted from 9ct rose gold.
With original dedication to centre of what we believe to be the letters ‘JC', surrounded by a detailed wreath beautifully painted on ivory.
There is some degradation to the hand worked detailing, however the remainder of the brooch/pendant is lovely.
Original bevelled glass has surface scratches but its very clear, not cloudy.
Verso is lovely, original very secure C clasp and a hidden jump ring to allow this bedrock to be worn also as a pendant.

CONDITION
Lovely condition for its approximately 240 years. No dents to verso, original C clasp and pin which are in excellent and secure working order. Original glass to front has uniform wear but shallow wear and is still very clear. Central panel with detailing does show signs of age related degradation, see photos. The lobster clasp is our addition and is not gold. Lovely early piece and so very wearable today.
