Fabulous Vintage Retro Style 9ct Yellow Gold Square-cut Smokey Quartz Ring

The Smoky Quartz displays a gorgeous soft smoky brown to warm champagne-brown colour, with subtle golden and olive undertones that shift beautifully as the ring moves through the light. Its broad, open table and crisp geometric step-cut faceting give the stone a wonderfully sleek, almost architectural appearance, perfectly suited to the substantial Retro styling of the ring.
The Quartz is secured within a wonderfully substantial yellow gold setting, flowing into beautifully steep, sculptural shoulders and a very solid, wide band, measuring 9.2mm at its widest point. Despite its impressive proportions, the ring sits beautifully on the finger and is remarkably comfortable to wear. It certainly commands attention, with fabulous finger presence and weighing a very impressive 10.04 grams, this ring exudes a confident feel associated with bold mid-century and Retro jewellery.
Presenting in lovely vintage condition. The Smoky Quartz remains beautifully presented, with just the tiniest little nibbles noted at each corner facet edge. Owing to the way the corners have been faceted, these are exceptionally difficult to see during normal wear and generally only become apparent when viewed with a 10x magnification loupe. We mention them purely for accuracy, and they certainly do not detract from the overall beauty or impressive presentation of this gorgeous ring!

Condition
Very very good vintage condition. There are tiny nibbles to each corner facet, only apparent under very close observation or with a 10x loupe, given the facet cut, they are very hard to notice and certainly do not detract from the ring’s presence. The shank is very strong and wide, measuring 9.22mm at its widest point, tapering to 5.5mm at the verso. There is a very faint colour variation from a previous resize at the verso, and the shank is very slightly oval appearance. Minor marks to the gold, which could certainly be buffed as desired with any jeweller. A gorgeous, eye catching ring!
