This elegant rivière features 16 large, oval faceted purple glass stones that glow with rich Amethyst tones, perfectly mimicking the look of genuine Amethysts.
Set in warm silver-gilt (silver with gold overlay), each sparkling stone is securely mounted in its original multi-claw setting and linked by delicate articulated joints that allow the piece to drape beautifully around the neck.
Weighing an impressive 101 grams, this necklace has a lovely substantial feel without being uncomfortable — it sits perfectly against the skin exactly as a fine rivière should. The simple S-shaped clasp makes it wonderfully easy to put on and take off, even on your own. If desired, your jeweller could easily add links to lengthen this one!
Every one of the 16 oval gems is in pristine condition — no chips, no scratches, and no visible wear to the facets. The stones still catch the light beautifully, flashing with that deep, luxurious purple hue that defined elegant jewellery of the period.

Condition
Excellent condition. Each Amethyst glass is in excellent condition, no chips, abrasions nor facet wear. All are very well set and secure. Gilt wash is a lovely pale gold wash with no losses. No repairs or damages.Box is in good condition, opens and closes perfectly. Some age related discolouration to satin and velvet where the necklace sits. Outside box show a few marks. Hinges perfect.
