Exquisite Late Victorian Early Edwardian 9ct Garnet Seed Pearl Locket

Stunning example of a double sided glass locket dating to the Late Victorian or early Edwardian period.  Almost definitely early Australian in manufacture.

Featuring original glass panes securely held by its round frame with screw top mechanism to release allowing you to insert (or not) your favourite treasured photo.
The ornate floral motifs adorning the outside of the frame are unusual and quite exquisite.

Each decorative section holds a garnet or garnet doublet set into a floral surround, with pearls holding tiny seed pearls.

This locket is a step above the more commonly seen plain versions and would make a wonderfully addition to your antique jewellery collection.
