Edwardian Gold Cased Sovereign Case Made in England by Dennison Watch Case Co Circa 1910
Antique Edwardian sovereign case, Made in England by ALD Dennison Watch Case Co. Circa 1910.
Inscribed to the front section in ornate fashion are the initials ‘ABC’ and the verso is plain.
Yellow gold in hue and in just lovely condition these impressively sized sovereign holders look fantastic on any chain.
Fully hallmarked with the Trademark for Dennison Watch Case Co. and ‘guaranteed for 20 years’ which of course it has far exceeded and will so for another 100 years treated with love.
Total weight 22.87 grams, 30mm diameter case, classical form with push-button release cover with sprung interior.
Aaron Dennison
Aaron Dennison was an important pioneer in watchmaking by machinery; in fact it could be said that he was the most important pioneer, in that it was his ideas that started the mass production of watch movement parts by machinery in America, which had major knock-on effects on watchmaking in Switzerland and England.
After initiating a revolution in watchmaking, Dennison set up a company in Birmingham, England, to make watch cases, and many collectors will have watches with cases made by the Dennison watch case company.

Very very good antique condition. Push button mechanism fully functional, spring loaded bed inside perfect working condition. Clasps tightly. No wear to gold casing. Very very superficial marks here and there only.
