Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Sovereign Case Chester 1907

Collections: Sold Archive

Superb sovereign case crafted from 9ct rose gold and with full assay marks for Chester 1907.

Fashioned in pocket watch style with a perfectly functioning top button which when pressed pops open the case to reveal a spring loaded circular section to which the sovereigns would once have been held.

As pretty inside as it is outside the machine engraved pattern to the spring bed inside is lovely and bears hallmarks for ‘9 / 375’ not once but twice. To inside of case the makers marks ’T & S’ - Chester hallmark and ‘g’ date letter for 1907.

To the front is the original un-inscribed large shield, the verso is smooth and plain and with a large bale to the top allowing a heavy gauge chain is desired, or pop this one on your favourite watch chain.

(With an independent valuation dating to 1996 for $1750.00 - not included but viewable on request).
