Early Australian 9ct Rose Gold Azurite/Chrysocolla Ring

Rare and very unusual early Australian piece, dating to approx. 1930s to mid 1940s.  Set with a large, solitaire cabochon-cut stone, which we/our gemologist believes is likely Azurite which is sometimes combined with another mineral, possibly Chrysocolla, measuring 2.6cm x 1.7cm.
This stunning blue stone is multi claw set, in an ever so slightly raised gallery.  Two bifurcated shoulders to a slim, D shape band.  Handcrafted in 9ct rose gold, in beautiful condition for its age, no abrasions or chips to the stone.  All claws are original and very secure.
Such an incredible statement ring, the first example of its kind that we have come across in 30 years experience.
2.6cm x 1.7cm
1.82 Grams
Instinct mark which we assume is 9ct, has been tested as 9ct
Approx 7  (N 1/2) or 17.3 cm. Sizeable 4-6 sizes up.
Very good to excellent antique condition.  Beautiful patina to gold, has original traces of early blooming seen on early Australian pieces of this type.  All claws original, secure.  No thinning to shank.  All in all, a lovely rare and highly unusual Australian piece.
