This lovely bottle features an elegant rounded form, richly embellished with intricate filigree and scrolling goldwork, giving the piece a lovely sense of texture and craftsmanship. Decorative curled flourishes frame the shoulders, while the tapered body is finished with delicate openwork and applied detailing that catches the light beautifully.
Adding to its charm, the bottle retains its original screw-top stopper, complete with the slender little perfume dipper extending from beneath the cap — a delightful and increasingly difficult-to-find detail that allows the piece to remain wonderfully true to its original purpose.
Perfume bottle pendants were particularly fashionable during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, when ladies carried small scent bottles or vinaigrettes as both practical and decorative personal accessories. Presenting in very good to excellent condition. A substantial size and weight; top stopper screws off with ease and fastens tightly. The bale is a very generous size, allowing this piece to be suspended from a number of chains. Gorgeous!
