As rare as the proverbial he’s teeth this wonderful Art Deco ‘Wahl Eversharp’ solid 14ct gold pencil is simply marvellous and a collectors dream.
Commonly seen in ‘goldfill’, Wahl, and others, produced them in the millions for the lower end of the consumer market, however this rare example is in solid 14ct gold and stamped as such - ‘Wahl Eversharp 14k Solid Gold Made In USA’.
Known as a ‘ring top’ due to the gold top ring, this one could easily be worn on a fine chain as a pendant if desired.
Beautiful chased with a particularly feminine floral design, including a daisy!, to the shaft and in amongst this chasing is a cartouche which is still 100 years later un-inscribed.
A tiny nub of original lead remains, but lead can be sourced and inserted easily (see photos).
A treasure indeed, rare to find, wearable, beautiful and by perhaps the most renowned mechanical pen and pencil maker in recent history.
