his is one of those rare pieces that instantly captures the heart — a charming, beautifully made Victorian silver bangle with just the right amount of wit and wonder.
Often we hear the phrase ’tennis bracelet’, but this delightful example takes the idea quite literally, featuring a finely detailed tennis racket and darling little Tennis ball, gently raised in relief. It’s a playful nod to the sport, long before the modern term ever existed.

Crafted in solid Sterling silver and fully hallmarked as such, this bangle was crafted in 1884, firmly within the Victorian era. The Birmingham assay marks and lion passant are crisp and clear, and the piece carries a wonderful, reassuring weight at 35.7 grams. Designed as an oval cuff, it sits low and comfortably on the wrist, feeling substantial yet elegant.

One side is left plain and highly polished, creating a lovely contrast with the main decorative panel. Here, deep, ornate engraving frames the applied Tennis racket, which catches the light beautifully as the wrist moves.

The level of detail is superb, and the condition is nothing short of remarkable — no dents, no damage, just over a century of history preserved in silver.
This is the perfect piece for anyone who loves tennis, Victorian jewellery, or jewellery with personality and a story to tell.

A true survivor, endlessly wearable, and irresistibly charming — once seen, it’s very hard not to fall in love!
