Antique Victorian Sterling Silver And 9ct Gold ‘Dove’ Brooch Circa 1880-90
Please note, chains are for display only unless otherwise stated.
A superb example of Victorian symbolism in the form of a ‘Dove of Peace’ gracefully depicted in flight. Dating to the late Victorian era in a time when jewellery was used as the language of love and devotion, the dove symbolised peace, love, hope and renewal.
Crafted from Sterling silver and 9ct gold, adorned with an impressive sixty two (62) tiny sparkling and bright white diamonds set in silver, a tiny green eye which may or may not be an Emerald, and to the verso a 9ct rose gold rollover C clasp and pin.
Wear this beauty as a brooch, or simply thread the pin through, or over, a chain - (see our photos for an example) - brooches are versatile pieces of jewellery and can be worn in many ways!
Measuring a lovely size at 4.2cm x 3.5cm making it the perfect understated and quintessentially antique statement piece which will elevate any outfit.
This brooch captures the essence of Victorian artistry, making it a remarkable and cherished addition to any jewellery collection.
