“Aide-mémoire is a French loanword meaning "a memory-aid; a reminder or memorandum, especially a book or document serving this purpose".

Crafted from Sterling Silver with high relief floral repoussé work to the large front and rear Silver panels, with a large top handle which would have originally attached to a highly ornate Chatelaine worn by wealthy women of the era. Inside we find two Ivorine/celluloid leaves for writing important notes required to run a busy schedule during the Victorian era!

A large example measuring a long drop with handle - 8.0cm, and without including the handle 5.5cm x 3.5cm.

Wonderfully ornate and in beautiful condition, a must for the Victoriana collector.
