Antique Victorian *Gold Cased* Magnifying Lorgnette Circa 1880-90

Dating to the Victorian era this antique Lorgnette transports us to a bygone era when ladies adorned themselves with grace and poise.

No only decorative but a functional piece of jewellery this example no longer ’springs’ but has a little notch to pull open when required.
Open or closed they magnify quite well, wear these on your favourite guard chain when out antique shopping to examine further potential acquisitions!

Crafted in gold cased or gold fill with lovely engraving this lorgnette is more than just a piece of history, it’s a conversation starter, a collectors item and a window into a bygone era.

CONDITION
Good antique condition. Please note these do not ‘spring’ open as some Lorgnettes do, whether the spring is malfunctioning or this is by design we do not know. Minor marks to gold casing (previous acid test). Minor shallow marks, scuffs to lenses, however these lenses do magnify quite well both in open position and closed, quite useful if worn around the neck on a chain!

Please note chains are for display only unless otherwise stated.
