Exquisite in her size, beauty and symbolism this tiny Victorian fob seal dates to around the late Georgian to early Victorian era.
9ct gold cased as many of this era are and set to the base with a bloodstone intaglio inscribed with ‘La Candeur’ which translates to ‘Innocence’ and a tiny Snowdrop motif symbolising the same.
Of course it could also reference ‘La Candeur’ composed and written by pianist Johan Friedrich Franz Burgmuller - 1806-1874… either way this particularly pretty antique fob seal looks wonderful on a chain or perhaps a charm bracelet?!
