Exquisite and all original antique 18ct rose gold ring circa 1880.
Manufactured in France around the late Victorian era and stamped with the French hallmark of ‘Mercury’ indicating the 18ct gold quantity and for the French export market. Anther tiny mark would be for the maker which we can not identify.
Set with a green Agate cameo depicting the goddess Demeter - the Greek goddess of the harvest, grain and fertility.
Six claw set with the two end opposing claws set with a tiny natural half seed Pearl, to the trifurcated shoulders which are also bar set with four natural half seed Pearls to each.
Stunning on the finger, this lovely French antique ring would be a beautiful addition to your jewellery collection.

Very very good antique condition. All Pearls original with no re-gluing. Agate cameo is in very good antique condition, one sliver chip to rear of cameo, insignificant and stable. This ring is not suitable for every day wear with out care, we advise any antique rings are not to be worn as everyday rings especially rings 140 years old as this one is.Purchase Summary
