Dating to around the late Victorian era this beautiful and scarce to find Etruscan Revival ring is not only a delight to behold but equally delightful to slip on to the finger!

The shield shaped top mount is crafted from 14-15ct gold which has been bloomed in typical Victorian fashion to give an ever richer high carat gold matte finish, is three dimensional and striking in its manufacture.  
Centering a natural half Pearl - multi-claw set - in a Star setting, and surrounded by exquisite black enamel work of ’star’ motif enhancing the central gold setting.

The attention to detail is exquisite.. rope twist borders abound to every level, delicate graduated gold ball details and further fan shaped motifs to the north and south points complete this stunning ring.

Bifurcated shoulders and a plain shank - in 9ct gold - keep this beauty firmly on the finger.

Is this a conversion?  Possibly, even probably.. but if so it’s one of, if not the best we have seen.  The work is superb, the shank is completely sympathetic and ‘right’.. for this ring.. a masterful conversion if so!

Etruscan revival jewellery is highly sought after, and rings rarely presenting to the market, especially in this condition!

CONDITION
Excellent antique condition.  IF this ring is a conversion it has been expertly done sometime in antiquity, not recently.  No messy solder, no ‘obvious’ signs of conversion, a masterful conversion.  High carat blooming is lush, matt and in lovely condition.  The Pearl is original, well set and secure, with no nacre loss.  Enamel is also excellent, no losses or ‘re-do’s’.  No thinning to the shank/band.  

Of note there are two tiny impressions to the outer rope work border, mentioning this for accuracy only, this is not damage, it appears to have been smoothed down professionally, this is the only real indication of a possible ‘alteration or conversion.. this does not detract from this rings beauty or quality!  No other issues to note.
