Becoming so very hard to source these lovely antique slide chains most often appear on the market in ‘gold fill’ or rolled gold but not this beauty!  She is crafted in 9ct rosy hued gold and, around the late Victorian to early Edwardian era and is in the most beautiful condition for her age.

Measuring a wonderful 128cm with a dog clip AND slide, the styling options for this one are truly endless. (See links below for photos).

The perfectly round and delicately chased edge slide glides effortlessly up and down the chain as it should, and the dog clip allows you to pop your treasured locket or pendant on securely if so desired.

Known by many names including muff chain, lorgnette chain, guard chains etc, they were popular during the early 19th to early 20th century and used to hold a pocket watch, muff or other useful items.
