Antique Victorian Bohemian Garnet Crossover ‘Horseshoe’ Bangle Circa 1890’s

Collections: Sold Archive

A lovely and quite unusual antique Bohemian garnet bangle dating to the late Victorian era to perhaps the very early years of the 20th century.

Crafted from ‘Tombac’ which we tend to see in many of these early pieces and designed as an oval hinged bangle with a very secure box clasp and original safety chain.

The central and spectacular motif is that of a ‘Horseshoe’ symbolising good luck and its is set with a large 10mm x 7mm oval cushion-cut Garnet which is then surrounded by twenty small rose-cut Bohemian garnets to a further surround of fifteen flat fancy cut Garnets.

A cross over design supports the Horseshoe beautifully and the entire circumference of the bangle is set with flat cut garnets also.

Stunning in design, hard to come by in this style, a lovely addition to anyone's jewellery collection.
