For ever popular for good reason this exquisite late Victorian Bohemian garnet bangle dates to around 1880-1890's and is simply lovely.
Designed as an oval hinged bangle with a central flower type motif set with both flat faceted and rose cut Bohemian garnets, to the remainder of the bangle, front and back, set with two rows of rose-cut Bohemian garnets.
Crafted in traditional ‘garnet gold’ or more precisely Tombac - which is a which is an alloy of cooper and zinc used to imitate gold and very commonly used in Bohemian Garnet jewellery during this era.
Pleasingly this bangle is a larger ‘fit’ with an internal circumference of 18cm!
Internal circumference of 18ct
Good antique condition. Under very close scrutiny one garnet may be an early replacement, and one small garnet had nicks to girdle seen under loupe. The remaining garnets are original with no chips both to front and back of bangle. Box clasp and origin safety chain are very secure and closes tightly. Tombac has minor marks only, no dents or dings.
