Superb quality 9ct rose gold propelling pencil dating to the late Victorian era circa 1890.
Crafted from 9ct gold (not lined, rolled or filled) and stamped and tested as such, and weighs a very healthy 9.4 grams.
Highly decorated throughout with deeply embossed floral buds to the slider and top containing the round Sardonyx seal (uninscribed), and further scrolling foliate patterning to the column.
The sliding mechanism propels smoothly and, miraculously, this beauty retains a small piece of original lead AND two small pieces of lead are to be found in the screw off top receptacle also.
A lovely size, not the miniature versions we often see, at 10.5 cm fully extended and 8.5cm when retracted.
A quality example, this one is for the serious collector.

Very good to excellent antique condition. No chips or abrasions to Sardonyx. Gold is beautiful throughout, no dents. Small piece of lead place and two small pieces in receptacle.
