Antique 9ct rose gold guard chain dating to the late Victorian era to around the turn of the century.
Crafted superbly from 9ct rose gold which is subtle in hue and that in-between colour of rose and yellow gold which lends itself to matching your other jewellery pieces.
The links are flat elongated oval in shape and interestingly, under magnification, an internal further link inside which gives a strength to this chain that has enabled it to withstand the test of time and is a true estimate to its craftsmanship.
Each link measures 4.6mm x 2.8mm and all are thick and very strong. Retaining its original 9ct gold lobster clasp which is also in fully functional and springy order.
Measuring a pleasing 134cm / 53.7 inches in length and weighing a hefty 29.8 grams this superior quality Victorian guard chain lends itself to a multitude of styling options. Wear it long, double or even triple it, add you favourite pendant or locket, the options are endless.
