DESCRIPTION (Please scroll to the bottom to view video)
Charming late Victorian gold cased chatelaine propelling pencil in decorative design and measuring at extension 8cm and retracted 6cm.
The body of the pencil is engraved with a fine scrolling pattern and the head of the pencil is deeply engraved with a foil backed paste gem to the top which also has a screw mechanism allowing access to the inside of the pencil and spare lead can be stored.
This one does retain some original lead at present.
The slide and propeller mechanism works soundly, the original sliding bale and jump ring are present and will accommodate a fine chain allowing this one to be worn as a pendant.
Foil backed paste - purple
Very good antique condition. Foil backing to paste top shows slight marks and fading to foil, nothing too detracting. Gold casing is lovely and all present with no losses. Retracts and extends with ease. Some lead still present. No other issues.
