Antique Victorian 19ct And 15ct Gold Rhodonite Torpedo Earrings Circa 1870
A wonderful pair of Victorian earrings dating to around 1870-80 and designed as the much sought after Torpedo drop style.
Designed for pierced ears with shepherds hook fittings which have a foliate three leaf textured section to the then engraved gold capping holding the Rhodonite torpedo drop. Both ourselves and our gemmologist are torn between them being Rhodonite and Blue John.
The hooks and foliate section have been XRF Tested as 19 carat gold and the torpedo cappings (for strength) have tested as 15ct gold.
Stunningly beautiful in the ear these long drops measure an enticing 5cm and sway and swish just the way the should with movement.
