Antique Victorian 15ct Yellow Gold Double Locket Circa 1870-1890

Dating to the late Victorian era this lovely locket is just waiting to be seen and loved again.
Crafted from 15ct yellow gold, deeply chased with a floral pattern in high relief and retaining its original round top ring which is also finely chased in the manner of the locket.
Originally designed a photo locket (and could be again), the original photo had faded with time so we took the opportunity to remove it and add a parcel of natural faceted blue Sapphires enabling this one to become a shaker locket, or some sentimental dried flowers would also be possible.
Double panes of thick bevelled edged glass remain in very good condition with a couple of shallow marks only, these would become very hard to see if a photo is again inserted, but as is are also very hard to see especially from one side.
A large size measuring 4cm x 3.2cm without bale, and dropping an impressive 5cm including bale. The bale is large and would accommodate a good sized chain, bolt ring or one or two dog-clips if desired.
Bright and beautiful on, this locket could become a treasured family heirloom once again.

CONDITION
Very good antique condition. Original embossed bale, strong and solid. Glass shows two shallow scratches and other very very minor marks, if a photo in inserted these would be much less noticeable. A little tricky to remove rim and double glass panes to re-insert a photo etc, but only patience is required! A lovely early locket.
