DESCRIPTION (Please scroll to the bottom to view video)

Dating to the late Victorian era circa 1880 and crafted from 15ct yellow gold.

Styled as a symbolic cross/crucifix set with eleven white half Pearls with a border or royal blue enamel.

During the 19th century mourning jewellery required an etiquette usually two or three years of wearing dark of black jewellery (and clothing).  As the bereavement period progressed ones jewellery would also change colour but still representing the stages of grief.

This beautiful cross bears blue enamel which would indicate it was worn during the final stages of the mourning period when colours were ‘allowed’ to be introduced back in to the wardrobe.

With her original Pearls and Pearl set bale, beautiful blue enamel, this meaningful piece of jewellery is a stunning piece of Victoriana to add to your jewellery collection.
