Dating to the mid to late Victorian era these stunning long from Tassel earrings are crafted from 15ct yellow gold and feature rose and white gold floral accents and details to the ornate tops.
Originally both earrings would have had eight tassel drops, sadly one has lost two (2) of her foxtail gold drops and now retains only six, and of those six three have lost their tiny gold ball ends.
However… these Victorian Tassel earrings are stunning and when viewed from the front still look very very beautiful, one simply does not have the thickness or ‘body’ the other has.
With the longest and strongest 9ct gold shepherd hook ear wires (with safety hook at rear) we have ever seen which give these earrings a total drop from the ear of an eye catching 6cm!
We all know how incredibly hard it is to find original antique Tassel earrings without taking out a second mortgage so due to the condition issues of just one earrings we are pricing these ones accordingly!
If well-cared, they will bring many more years of enjoyment and really do need to be seen, worn and loved again.
Mid - Late Victorian (1860 – 1901)
Total drop length from ear - 6cm
Tassels - 3.5cm
Tassels XRF tested as 15ct
Long Shepherds hooks - 9ct gold
As mentioned above one Tassel drop has 6 drops (one completely missing, one is half present) instead of 8, and three tiny balls missing. The other tassel earrings has all 8 drops AND all tiny balls present. Shepherd hooks are lovely, strong and firm and very very long! Gold work to ornate tassel caps is beautiful and undamaged. No thinning to shepherd hooks or tassels top rings where the two meet.
