Antique Victorian 12ct Rose Gold ‘Harlequin’ Articulated Puppet Charm Circa 1880’s
As rare as they come this incredible and adorable Harlequin (or Jester) charm/pendant dates to the late Victorian era circa 1880’s.
Crafted from 12ct gold this wonderful charm is articulated internally and when the wee dangling chain is pulled both his arms and legs move, appearing to dance just like a cavorting Harlequin!
When these rare charms appear they are sometimes attributed to a likeness of Napoleon Bonaparte and listed as Georgian, however our research lends us to believe they are in fact late Victorian and indeed ‘Jesters’.
What ever he may be, we know he is stunningly crafted, very detailed, and so cleverly constructed.
This example is suspended on an antique ‘gold filled’ lobster clasp of very good quality, and matches in colour so well we have decided to leave as is.. its very functional and slips on to a chain with ease, or clip is to you favourite bolt ring claps for an interesting #neckmess!

Very good to excellent antique condition. Articulated limps work perfectly. No dents, no repairs, no damage. Dog clip is as mentioned testing as gold filled or rolled gold, it is very good quality, springy and secure. No issues to note.
