Antique Silver French Enamel ‘Memory’ Mourning Ring Circa 1890
Sold Out Free
Unusual and early ‘In Memory Of’ mourning ring constructed from silver and hallmarked with what we believe to me the French ‘Hare’ hallmark, and makers mark ‘JM’
Dating to around 1890 and in quite nice antique condition, with very very minimal loss to enamel, at some stage it has been expertly touched up, but this is only noticeable under x 10 magnification. I have not come across anything remotely similar which suggests to me this is quite rare!
Sterling silver jewellery becoming increasingly popular around the time of Queen Victoria's silver jubilee!
This early ring would be a lovely addition to any mourning ring collection, great worn as a stacker but certainly has the appeal to be worn solo.
