Antique Late Victorian / Art Nouveau 14ct Rose Gold Rare Triple Snake Ring

Collections: Sold Archive

Glorious and rare example of a triple stylised intertwined snake ring crafted around the turn of the century into the Art Nouveau period as seen by the interesting detail of the intertwined tails similar in fact to the caduceus carried by Hermes in Greek mythology.

Hand crafted from rich 14k rose gold and set, to each head, with and old European cut diamond of approx 0.05cts each and the sweetest faceted natural rubies for the eyes.

With traces of scales here and there which just add to the charm of this rare and wonderful ring.

“Snakes were highly symbolic in the Victorian era and in to later decades meaning infinite love.  The three diamonds in this piece represent ‘past’, ‘present’ and ‘future”.
