Antique ‘Ivy Leaf’ 9ct Rose Gold Birmingham Ring 1916

Symbolising eternal love, continuity and fidelity the Ivy plant was popular throughout the 19th and early 20th century as a motif for these enduringly popular wedding bands.

‘I cling to thee’ was the powerful and sentimental philosophy behind the use of the Ivy leaf, and in face wreaths of ivy leaves were used to crown the heads of a couple on their wedding day.

This all original band is beautifully hallmarked for manufacture in 1916 and assayed in Birmingham.

With ‘Ivy Leaf’ hand engraved patterning the full circumference or the ring symbolising eternal love.

Quite wide at 8mm giving a lovey finger spread.
Stunningly good condition, this ring would make the perfect sustainable alternative to a current day wedding or eternity ring.
