Stunningly pretty all original Amethyst and Pearl brooch dating to the Georgian to early Victorian era.
Crafted from rose gold testing to around 12ct and centring the most beautiful round faceted Amethyst in cut down collet setting to halo of twelve half Pearls which are creamy white (whiter than our photos show), all original and would be natural Pearls given its age. The Pearls are also set in individual cut down collet settings.
The Amethyst is closed back in a domed gold setting to the back and quite probably also foil backed as per its early era, no signs of foil deterioration can be seen, the colour is stunning and a medium purple exhibiting shards of pinks also.
To the rear is a loop which at the moment has an attached safety chain and pin, a jeweller could easily craft or find an ’S’ hook and slip onto this loop thus enabling this brooch also to be worn as a pendant.
Original ‘C’ clasp and pin which fastens securely.
